HUNGER bearing ring with wiping function type FAI is mainly used on piston rods. It allows space-saving construction due to its inte-grated wiping function. It provides guiding and bearing surfaces between rod and housing and prevents metal to metal contact between them.
The HUNGER bearing ring FAI consists of an extre- mely abrasion-resistant and low friction POM-PTFE Bronze-Compound. It can be used for hydraulic oill with a mineral oil base, for water-oil emulsions and for fire-resistant fluids as well as compressed air.
It has a U-shaped cross-section and is split with an angled butt joint. It can be spirally compressed inwards for fiting into the rod housing where it springs back out into corresponding installation grooves. The bearing groove arangement secures it against axial movement.
In applications where fine dirt particles (dust) are present, the use of wiper type AI combined with bearing type FI is recommended.
