WST 3 is a high performance transmitter, designed for industrial weighing and force measuring by means of strain gauge transducers. At the front panel the instrument has function keys and a display window with backlight.
By normal operation the actual measurement value and the status of the relays is displayed in the window, but display of for example operation status and set level values can also be selected.
WST 3 supplies the transducer with excitation voltage and converts the analogue transducer signal to a digital measurement signal with very high resolution. By parameter controlled calculations it produces internal measurement values, which can be presented at the display and used to control the current or voltage signal at the analogue output.
Functions are included for supervision of the input signal or some internal measurement values. The supervision status can be used to control the two output relays.
WST 3 can be incorporated as a slave unit in different types of networks. Communication with the control unit/PLC can be performed via Profibus and Modbus. As an alternative the Modbus output can be used to transmit measurement values to external display units.
The network can be used for set-up of parameter values, but set-up can also be performed from the instrument front panel.
WST 3 is built into a compact enclosure, which is easily installed on a DIN-rail or a flat surface. The instrument inputs and outputs are galvanically isolated from each other.
